8 Weeks

Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

Wow.  Can you believe it? 8 weeks!  Baby is a raspberry now!  I am still very anxious for my appointment.  Just to make this real.  If it weren't for the weight gain (ugh), and increase in my appetite, along with the nausea I wouldn't believe it.  I need the doctor to verify this to really make me believe I am pregnant.

 How far along? 8 weeks!

Due Date:  Still 12/10/11 as far as I know

Total weight gain/loss:
 I'm skipping this question today...

Maternity clothes? Nope, just the BeBand on select days

Best moment this week: Meeting a new friend who is due right around the same time!

Movement: Not yet

Food cravings: Milk

Food aversions: Left-overs

Symptoms: Some nausea, and weight gain especially in the boob region...

 Still too early to tell

***I FEEL LIKE AN ELEPHANT!*** And I think the baby is growing in my butt instead of my belly.

Dreams and homesickness

I must be stressing out.  I am back to waking up a lot during the night.  Now it's because I'm having tons of baby dreams.  I had a dream I was 7-8 months pregnant and I had a HUGE belly.  I could hardly move.  When i woke up I still felt like it was real.  Then I immediately had another dream.  I was back in NC in the car with my mom leaving the mall and I went into labor.

Things are changing  next week.  Things that will allow me to rest a little better and have a lot less stress.  It might be hard for a little while, but I'm excited to take better care of myself...and my house. :)

I've still been nauseous daily.  It's worse during the afternoon/evening.  I still haven't thrown up, thankfully.  But if it weren't for that nasty feeling, I would wonder if I was really pregnant.  I still have 3 1/2 weeks until my appointment, and I'm starting to get more anxious.  I can't wait!

P.S.  I've been incredibly homesick lately.  I miss my family, friends, and North Carolina.  :(

We will not know where we are going to be stationed next until February, but I'm hoping this time next year we might be in Charleston.  4 1/2 hours from home.  I keep imagining being able to bring baby home for the holidays...and every couple of months. :)

7 Weeks!

7 weeks already!

This week baby is the size of a blueberry!

"Baby's brain -- both hemispheres! -- is growing fast, generating about one hundred new cells every minute. Arms and legs are emerging as joints start to form, and a permanent set of kidneys (baby's third!) is now in place".

This past week has been pretty good.  I've had at least a little nausea everyday.  Mostly when I haven't eaten much or driving in the car.  I'm so excited for this week, it's another week closer to my appointment!

They lied

Morning sickness.  Really?  Maybe.  Morning and afternoon sickness?  Probably.  Morning, afternoon, evening sickness? YES.  Whoever named this "morning" sickness never had to suffer from it.

So that's how my day has been!  It's not too bad, yet.  Once I finally got some food down when I got home from work I started feeling a little better.  But it wanted to make it's appearance again when I was cooking dinner.  Raw chicken is definitely one of my button pushers.  Eww.  Just thinking about it is making me a little queasy.

I really need to get some saltines or bland crackers.

But I guess this means this pregnancy is progressing and that makes me happy!

6 weeks!

6 weeks!  I'm so excited!  But from what I've been reading this is the time morning sickness usually hits pretty hard.  I'm looking forward to progressing more!

About Baby (from the Bump)- Growing like crazy, baby is starting to sprout eyes, ears, nose, cheeks and chin. Those little hands and feet- still webbed like paddles- might wiggle by week's end, the heart is beating (almost twice as fast as yours!), and blood is starting to circulate.

Here's the survey and belly pic.  I will post another blog tomorrow or Monday.  I'm worn out today and need a nap!

How far along? 6 weeks

Total weight gain/loss:
Nothing just yet, but it's coming!

Still hanging on

5 weeks, 4 days today.  I just wanted to post a little something real quick to make sure everyone knows I'm not slacking!  This week has been better than last.  I'm still pretty tired, but it's a little better.  I can sleep almost most of the night. Well, I take that back.  I had two really good nights of sleep.  All the others I keep waking up, either because my back hurts, I have to pee, or I have really weird dreams (like having twins, or my job getting hit by TWO tornados...)

I still feel HUGE!  This bloat is annoying.  And I'm always hungry!  My stomach is not happy with me postponing dinner until Nick gets home at 7:30.  I'm snacking all throughout the day too!

Still no morning sickness.  I've felt it wanting to start the past 3 days, but so far so good.  Still hanging in there.  My appointment is now less than 6 weeks away.  SO ANXIOUS!!! :)

And I'll leave you with a pretty Oklahoma sunrise!

Week 5

I'm 5 weeks along today!  I've been reading some women's blogs who are a little further along in their pregnancy and they each fill out this survey on the day they hit the 'next week'.  Most of the info really wont apply until I'm quite a bit farther along, but it will still be fun to do.

I was really not wanting to take bump shots yet, since I've got more of a baby bloat than a baby bump, but when I woke up this morning, Nick ran into the room saying, "Belly picture time, belly picture time!"  I couldn't say no. So I guess I'll start a little earlier than I had planned.

But first, a little about baby...
(from the bump)

Baby's now the size of an appleseed!  Your embryo, which doesn't look like much more than a tadpole right now, is actually starting to form major organs (heart, kidney, liver, stomach) and systems (nervous, circulatory, digestive). Baby's presence in your uterus triggers production of HCG (the hormone detected by pregnancy tests), which triggers the production of other hormones like estrogen and progesterone, which triggers all those great symptoms you've probably been noticing!

And now for the survey and bump bloat picture...

How far along? 5 weeks today!

Due Date:  12/10/11

Total weight gain/loss:
 Nothing so far

Maternity clothes? Not yet

Sleep: I'm tired all day long, then have trouble falling asleep at night, and staying asleep.

Best moment this week: Listening to Nick talk baby names :)

Movement: Too early for that!

Food cravings: Hot wings, Pizza, and Toby Keith's Fried Chicken Salad YUM!

Food aversions: None yet, but the smell of raw chicken is getting to me

Symptoms: Exhaustion, twinges here and there, frequent urination (every 2 hours!)

Gender:
Still have a little while to wait for that one

Labor Signs: Obviously not yet

Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: Not having to pee all the time

What I am looking forward to: My appointment on May 23!

Milestones: One month down!

First gift

Today was a terrible day for me at work and for Nick flying.  It was just bad.  But thank goodness there is always an  upside to things.  My friend stopped by the house this evening.  Not only did she have her awesome, sweet baby boy with her, but she brought me a gift as well!  She let me use her "What to Expect When Expecting" book wrapped in a baby blanket with a bottle of Pepcid.  I completely forgot about all the terrible things that happened today!  She's great! Thanks Justine!

I finished dinner and took a nice walk with Nick. Now, to finish this day off on this high note, I'm going to read this book for about 30 minutes and go to bed at 9.  :)

I just hope I can actually sleep.  I haven't slept well for the past 3 nights.  But I've got to get use to that, I suppose.

First Appointment Date!

So I finally got my referral today!  I got lucky and was able to have the doctor I wanted, here in town!  I've heard from several people at work that this doctor is the best around!  I called and made my appointment.  I'm a little jealous because the nurse said he doesn't usually see new patients until 10-12 weeks.  My appointment is May 23.  I'll be 11 weeks and 2 days.

I'm jealous because most women get to have their first ultrasound at 8 weeks.  I'll have to wait a whole extra month.  And still I have to wait about 7 weeks from today to be seen.  At least I have a date to look forward to though!  I was just hoping I would be seen in the first trimester.  I mean I will be seen during 1st tri, but I will almost be in 2nd tri by that appointment. But I'm still VERY happy to have this doctor!

I'm really looking forward to having an ultrasound and hearing that heartbeat! THIS IS SO EXCITING!!! The books I bought will be coming in on Saturday, so I know how I'll be spending my weekend!

:)

Yay!

I finally got a call back from the clinic today.  The nurse said she had my results back and I am indeed pregnant! (well, duh).  But hearing her say it made it feel like I was finding out for the first time! She put in a prescription for better prenatal vitamins, and I'll get my referral off base tomorrow!  She also signed me up for the base's OB Orientation.  I'll learn a lot about what's happening and what will be happening to my body.  Also, staff from both local hospitals will be there to talk to us.  And they're bringing around $90 worth of goodies (onesies, toys, etc).  I am SO excited but it's over a month away! It's May 11.  I'll be almost 9 weeks along by then.

So needless to say, even though work stresses me out daily, today was a good day. :)

Just 'cuz it's cool!

Since I was unable to have my blood drawn to see if my hcg levels are rising, I decided to test everyday.  Thank goodness the line keeps getting darker! I'll probably stop using tests now lol.

Here is the picture I took this morning.  So far today, no symptoms other than being tired...and hungry...  Great thing it's the weekend!

Blah

I am 4 weeks tomorrow.  I figured I would have at least 2 weeks before I started having morning sickness.  I was wrong.  I had my first wave of nausea today.  I couldn't eat my lunch and smells really bothered me!  It lasted a couple of hours, but now I'm starving!  Waiting for N to get home from flying so we can go get something good! I'm craving wings. :)

P.S. I'm SO happy we told our parents! What a relief it was!  Now I can have their support through this whole thing!  Even though I still feel like I'm dreaming and waiting to wake up any minute now.

I've got to say happy birthday to my Mother-in-law! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hi Mom & Dad! :)
